Initial consultation
This is a 30 minute appointment, where the aim is to get a full understanding of your concerns and to discuss the options available to give you a great straight smile.
At this appointment Alastair will run through the latest techniques and how they may benefit you. The cost of the initial consultation is £65.
Full case assessment
The initial consultation is usually followed by a full assessment and report that is sent to you and your dentist. In most instances, the full case assessment involves 2 visits. At the first visit a comprehensive clinical assessment, X-rays, photos and models of your teeth are obtained. This information is required for detailed planning. At the following appointment the treatment plan is discussed with you and any questions are answered. The cost of this is £145 and is fully inclusive of both visits.
Cost of Treatment
The cost of orthodontic treatment is influenced by many factors including: complexity of the treatment, length of treatment and type of appliance used.
As a rough guide, treatment with fixed braces on the outside surface of the teeth varies between £2500-£4500. Braces on the inside surface of the teeth (lingual appliances) varies between £3500-£8000.
A clear, written estimate of treatment cost will be provided following a full case assessment and there will be no hidden extras. The cost of orthodontic treatment includes all laboratory costs, materials, visits, retainers and follow-up for 1 year once the brace has been removed.
The cost of treatment does not include treatment undertaken by another dentist; for example, extractions, and placement of fillings, bridges or implants.
Payment
Flexible payment arrangements are available. Payment can be spread out over the course of active treatment. An initial payment of 25% of the cost of treatment is required. The remaining amount can then be paid in monthly installments by interest free standing order. A typical monthly payment is between £150-200.
